KOOYONG FOUNDATION

Continuing the great tradition as “The Spiritual Home of Australian Tennis”, Kooyong is committed to supporting, nurturing and enhancing this great game.

Since 2000, the Kooyong Foundation has made significant advancement focusing on two key objectives: to honour the rich traditions of Kooyong and Australian tennis; and to provide positive, practical support for the development of the sport.

Promoting the Future

The Kooyong Clubhouse represents a “Living Museum of Tennis”, allowing Members and guests to immerse themselves in the photography, trophies and special memorabilia celebrating the history of tennis in Australia.

The Foundation also actively nurtures young talent. Through scholarships, annual tournaments and other junior development programmes, some of Australia’s most promising and talented juniors are given the opportunity to excel in their game. Click on the image for the story of Corey Clarke.

With a Board of Directors that includes such all-time greats of Australian tennis as Frank Sedgman, Evonne Goolagong Cawley and Wayne Arthurs, and the ongoing support of generous donors, the Foundation is in an incredible position to contribute to Australian tennis.

The Kooyong Foundation owes its ongoing success to the generosity of donors. For those passionate about tennis and eager to see Australia’s place in the sport continue to thrive, involvement with the Kooyong Foundation can prove a highly satisfying and worthwhile venture. For further information regarding opportunities to participate in the Kooyong Foundation, please contact the Club on (03) 9822 3333.

One of the initiatives undertaken by the Kooyong Foundation has been the establishment of a bequest programme, which invites Kooyong Members and friends of the Club to remember Kooyong in their Will.

Programs and projects supported by the bequest programme can include the development of the Australian Tennis Museum at Kooyong, tennis scholarships for young players, and numerous other worthwhile initiatives.

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club stands today the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation and pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
