Ava Beck was selected to represent Australia at the recent Junior Billie Jean King Cup in Kazakhstan

Ava Beck was selected to represent Australia at the recent Junior Billie Jean King Cup in Kazakhstan and helped the team secure their spot in the World teamjunior BJK Cup finals later this year.

Beck has had an impressive 2024 so far, which has included winning back-to-back ITF junior titles in Mornington and Canberra and see the 15-year-old reach a high of #192 in the World on thejunior ITF rankings.

But the highlight no doubt has been representing her Country at the elite junior level.“I had a mixture of emotions, I felt privileged to play for Australia as it wasmy first time, it was very exciting to play in a team environment. I enjoyedhaving our captain on court to guide us through our tough matches and to playagainst girls from different nations was a great experience to test myself.”

“The climate was definitely a huge challenge, with often weather changes. Playing the quarter final against Kazakhstan with the home crowd on their side was tough. The biggest challenge was moving to indoor hard court for the final against Korea due to wet weather.”

The experience will be everlasting for Beck and her development, “being a representative was a special moment, along with being part of a team that won the Asia/Oceania JBJKC is a memory I’ll treasure forever. Meeting new girls from other countries and forming close bonds with my teammates is a memory I’ll never forget.”

“It was an honour to play for my country, and being able to see Kazakhstan firsthandwas an amazing experience. I am thankful for the opportunity and have learnt somuch about tennis and myself.”
