Exciting times ahead for Kooyong Foundation players, Ram Mude, Brian Capalnean, Zara Larke and Zali Morris who have signed with US colleges on tennis scholarships.
Promising junior Mude has signed with Queens University of Charlotte NC, Capalnean will take his talents to Kennesaw State University in Atlanta Georgia, Larke a top 100 ITF world junior player will attend the University of Virginia and Morris, a Kooyong State Grade player, has signed with Stetson University in Florida.
Morris, who has overcome a wrist injury after not being able to compete for eight months, can’t wait to start her college tennis career.
“I’m so excited to be given this opportunity to play college tennis and I’m really looking forward to getting over to Florida in August to get started."
These four players plus Thomas Pavlekovich-Smith, who started at the University of South Florida in January, join 16 other Foundation players who are currently at American universities on tennis scholarships.
Several of these players are set to graduate in the coming month.
As part of the Kooyong Foundation US College Program, players who go down this pathway receive financial support to help them pursue their college tennis aspirations.
