Marc Polmans has clicked back into gear after a six-month layoff on the circuit due to ankle surgery.
Taking a protected ranking of 220 in the world, Polmans' actual ranking slipped into the 800’s during the injury break.
Some strong performances including Quarter Finals and Semi Finals at the ATP Challenger events in Gwangju and Busan, South Korea, which included winning the doubles title in Busan with fellow Aussie Max Purcell, Polmans started to gain some momentum and confidence.
He took that into the recent NSW Open ATP Challenger event where he made it to the Final before going down to Taiwanese player Yu Hsiou Hsu 6-4, 7-6.
As a result, Polmans' ranking is already back up to 374 in the world.
Polmans will look to build on this over the Australian summer of tennis and be hopeful of a third Australian Open main draw appearance.
